Many jewelry designers have signed up to participate. We are all paired up with a partner to swap a batch of bead soup ingredients! My partner Nancy sent me this great set of beads:
I was thrilled to see the natural colors. That leaf is just amazing. It was handmade by JoAnn at Mudworks Pottery. I did have a problem trying to figure out what to do with it, as it looked like a large, beautiful button. I contemplated doing the obvious and using it as a pendant, but whatever I tried, just didn't "do it" for me! I kept thinking "leather' maybe a bracelet... or not. I played around with my leather scraps, bought a new tool (leather punch) and VOILA!
Not new jewelry, but a new purse instead! It has a convertable strap to make it a wristlet. And to top it off, after showing it to my neighbor, I now have my first custom purse order! A whole new craft for me. Now THAT'S a challenge!
