The First One

My first child, my son.

 His first girlfriend, for five days.

I didn't know until he hung up the phone.

Said he didn't know why.

She said the "relationship" wasn't working.

I asked, "Did you ever call her?"

He said, "Um, I don't even have her number."

My Favorite Christmas Movie

My absolutely favorite Christmas move of all time is "How The Grinch Stole Christmas." I'm talking about the old, original cartoon special by Dr. Suess.

First of all, I am a huge Dr.Seuss fan. From Go, Dog, Go to Cat in the Hat! His books were so fun to read to my kids when they were little. Even when I was a kid, I always looked forward to anything Seuss!

If you know me in real life, you will know that my husband calls me "Grinch" most of the time. At one point, I had a license plate that read "GRINCHY." Now some might think it's a negative type of knickname, but not me! Sure I am crabby sometimes... but I do have a big heart, lol!!

And that's the reason I love that movie.

That mean old Grinch tries his best to steal Christmas from the Who's. But in the end, his heart grows 3 times. They have a meter to measure it! He even ends up carving the roast beast at their dinner. So he's helpful too!

Stepping Out

Happy birthday to my friend, Josie!

She had this crazy idea to go line dancing, something we had never tried. What a fun time it was! It was great watching the people that actually knew what they were doing, haha!!

Simple Cranberry Sauce Recipe

I am re-posting this recipe beacuse it's that time of year again and it is soooo easy and yummy. Make it for Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Spiced Cranberry Sauce Recipe

1 - 12 oz. package fresh cranberries

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

1 cinnamon stick

1 teaspoon orange zest, divided

Add water and sugar to medium saucepan. Bring to boil. Slowly add the cranberries, 1/2 teaspoon orange zest and the cinnamon stick. Bring to boil again. Simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring often. Be careful, the berries pop sometimes.

Remove from heat to cool. Remove the cinnamon stick and pour into serving dish. Chill. Garnish with remaining 1/2 teaspoon orange zest before serving.

Serves 6-8.
